A meeting of the New Group of Friends of Georgia held in Vilnius  on 13 September 2007 was attended by Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gela Bezhuashvili, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas, Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Artis Pabriks , Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anna Fotyga, Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Adrian Mihai Cioroianu, Bulgarian Vice-Minister Evgenia Koldanova, Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg, as well as  Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Carl Bildt and EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Peter Semneby.

The New Group of Friends of Georgia – Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Sweden, with participation of EU Special Representative for South Caucasus, as an observer, having the meeting in Vilnius on 13-14 September 2007, have discussed the most urgent issues on Georgia’s way to euro-atlantic integration and concluded, that:

Georgia's State Minister for Conflict Resolution David Bakradze has left for the Kingdom of Sweden with a four day working visit.The state minister's office reported that Bakradze will take part in an international conference dedicated to the European Security; main topics which will be discussed at the conference will be settlement of conflicts, including so called 'frozen conflicts' which are at the territory of Georgia.

On 11 September 2007, in Washington, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili met with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The sides discussed the issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and the United States with focus on the positive dynamic of this cooperation and the strategic character of partnership.

On 10 September 2007, at the White House in Washington, Minister Bezhuashvili met with Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor Jim Jeffrey. The meeting focused on the state of security in the region.  The sides discussed the progress of Georgia’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures and the role of the United States in this process. Special attention was focused on the problems of energy security. The Georgian Foreign Minister briefed the National Security Advisor on the ongoing democratic reforms and the reconstruction processes in Georgia.
