Signing of Double Taxation Agreement

 

On November 6, 2013, the Agreement between the "Government of Sweden and the Government of Georgia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital" was signed in Tbilisi.

The Agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance of Georgia Mr. Nodar Khaduri and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia H.E. Ms. Diana Janse.

The signed agreement aims to promote economic cooperation between the countries and stimulate foreign investments.

"We are working on the agreements on avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with different countries. I am delighted, that we have signed this agreement with the government of Sweden. This will allow us to attract Swedish businessmen to invest in Georgia. This Agreement will be interesting for Georgian businessmen as well. The both parties will have opportunities to avoid double taxation and work in more competitive environment" - stated the Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri.

Between 2008 and 2012 trade turnover between Georgia and Sweden was $94 594 250, and import from Sweden to Georgia amounted to $92 mln.
