Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ms Tamar Beruchashvili paid a visit to the Kingdom of Sweden

On 4-5th September 2014, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Ms Tamar Beruchashvili paid a visit to the Kingdom of Sweden and took part in an informal meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the six East Partnership countries (Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Belarus) held  in Stockholm.

Within the framework of the visit, Tamar Beruchashvili held bilateral meetings with the Swedish State Secretary, Mr Frank Belfrage and the Director of Sida´s Department for Europe and Latin America, Ms Elsa Håstad. The sides discussed issues of bilateral relations and co-operation priorities, especially in the context of deepening EU-Georgia relations.

Ms Beruchashvili held a meeting with her Ukrainian and Moldovan colleagues during which discussions focused on the EU co-operation agenda. All sides agreed to share experience and co-operate in the field of reforms reaffirming the support of their respective governments for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries.

On the 4th of September the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the three Eastern Partnership countries - Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine met the Swedish State Secretary, Mr Frank Belfrage. Special attention was paid to the importance of the effective implementation of the Association Agreements as well as of the progress in development of co-operation between these countries and the European Union. Special mention was made of the need for the EU and its member states to contribute technically and financially to the implementation of the Association Agreements. In this light, the Swedish side expressed the readiness to support Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine along their path towards the European integration.
