Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili continues his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden. On 8 June 2007, Minister Bezhuashvili held meetings with Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson and State Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Nicola Clase.

The meetings focused on main topics in the bilateral relations between Georgia and Sweden, process of Georgia’s integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, prospects for closer co-operation with the European Union. Special attention was also paid to the importance of enhancement of cooperation in the field of tourism, economy and trade between the two countries.

The same day Minister Bezhuashvili met with Managing Director of the Swedish Alcohol Retailing Monopoly Anitra Steen and Vice President Barbro Ström. At the meeting the sides underlined that with the efforts of the Georgian government the Georgian wine is available at the Swedish market and in this respect, the importance of further promotion of Georgian wine in Europe was emphasised.

In the framework of his visit to Stockholm, Minister Bezhuashvili met with representatives of Sweden’s leading mass media representatives and provided them with exhaustive information on the state of ongoing developments in Georgia.
