Euro-Atlantic tour of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia

On 10 September 2007, at the White House in Washington, Minister Bezhuashvili met with Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor Jim Jeffrey. The meeting focused on the state of security in the region.  The sides discussed the progress of Georgia’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures and the role of the United States in this process. Special attention was focused on the problems of energy security. The Georgian Foreign Minister briefed the National Security Advisor on the ongoing democratic reforms and the reconstruction processes in Georgia.

In the frames of his visit to Washington, the Georgian Foreign Minister held a meeting with high-ranking officials of the Congress. The meeting was organised by the German Marshall Fund.

The same day Minister Bezhuashvili appeared at the Carnegie Centre with a speech: ‘Georgia in the International Arena: Rising Responsibilities, Rising Challenges’ and answered the questions of experts and politicians.

Later in the evening meeting will be held on International relations and security issues with famous American experts, politicians and diplomats.
