Delegation of the National Archives of Finland Visited Georgia

The delegation of the National Archives of Finland visited the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia on March 30, 2011. The delegation was headed by Mr. Jussi Nuorteva, Director of the National Archives of Finland, Chairman of the National Heraldry Council of Finland. He was accompanied by Mr. Dmitri Frolov, Microfilming Project Manager of the National Archives of Finland. The members of the delegation have met Ms. Teona Iashvili, Director of the National Achieve of Georgia. The Finnish delegation handed over the documents from the Finnish archives about the Georgians who were taken prisoners during the Second World War. In the frames of the visit, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the archives of the two countries. It considers cooperation in exchange of the achieved documents' copies, arranging joint events, sharing experience, etc. The National Archives of Georgia preserves materials depicting the cultural, social and political relations between Georgia and Finland.
