Exhibition – Medea’s Gold, Treasures from Ancient Colchis was inaugurated in Stockholm Museum of Mediterranean Culture on 20 November, 2009

On 20 November 2009 exhibition – Medea’s Gold, Treasures from Ancient Colchis was inaugurated in Stockholm Museum of Mediterranean Culture. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Monuments Protection and Sport of Georgia, the Georgian National Museum, Stockholm Museum of Mediterranean Culture with sponsorship of Swedish Institute and the Embassy of Georgia. At the ceremony of inauguration welcoming statements were made by Museum Director Ms. Sanne Houby-Nielsen, Director General of the Georgian National Museum Prof. David Lordkipanidze, Director of the Department of Events and Projects Ms. Åsa Lundmark, Ambassador of Georgia Mr. Amiran Kavadze. More than 300 guests attended the opening ceremony, which was followed by reception where fine samples of Georgian wine and cuisine were offered to guests. The exhibition will be on display at Medelhavsmuseet in Stockholm from November 20, 2009 – February 14. 2010. In connection with the event, different programmes (lectures and cultural events) about Georgia will be arranged. Some programmes will be presented in cooperation with the “Swedish Friends of Georgia” Society in Sweden.
