Panel Discussion on Georgia’s Path to EU Integration at Malmö University

On November 26, 2024, a panel discussion titled "Georgia at a Crossroads: Is Georgia Heading Towards EU Integration?" was held, jointly organized by Malmö University's Department of Global Political Studies and Lund’s "Europa Direkt."

The discussions were opened with a welcome speech by the First Secretary of the Georgian Embassy in Sweden, Ivliaz Dzneladze. The Embassy representative provided the audience with an overview of Georgia's achievements on its path toward EU membership, highlighting key strategic areas and current developments. Attention was also drawn to Georgia's growing role in global connectivity and strengthening regional security. It was emphasized that EU integration remains Georgia's top foreign policy priority, with ongoing reforms to support this goal.

The event took place at Malmö Central Library and was attended by international and Georgian researchers, as well as students from the political science and European studies faculties of Malmö and Lund Universities.
