THE FIRST DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN MET WITH THE STATE SECRETARY FOR EU AFFAIRS, CHRISTIAN DANIELSSON
Within the framework of his working visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, on 24 October, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia, met with the State Secretary for EU Affairs, Christian Danielsson.
At the meeting, the sides discussed a broad spectrum of Georgia-Sweden cooperation focusing on Georgia’s progress on the European integration path. Special note was taken of the need to grant Georgia the EU candidate status against the backdrop of complicated geopolitical processes in the world. The sides highlighted the importance of keeping the issues related to Georgia high on the European partners’ agenda. In this regard, Lasha Darsalia provided the Swedish State Secretary with detailed information about the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the peace policy of the Georgian government and the challenges facing the region.
Christian Danielsson positively assessed Georgia's progress on the EU path. The Swedish side expressed its readiness to continue supporting Georgia's European integration process.
