MEETING OF GEORGIAN PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF THE DEFENSE COMMITTEE OF THE SWEDISH PARLIAMENT
On 23 October, the Georgian parliamentary delegation, led by Irakli Beraia, Chairman of the Defense Committee, met with Peter Hultqvist, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Swedish Parliament.
During the meeting, the parties positively assessed the close cooperation between the two countries. During discussions, Special attention was paid to the current geopolitical processes in the world.
The two parties also discussed various aspects of cooperation between their respective parliamentary committees, the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic region and the Black Sea area, the ongoing situation in Georgia's occupied territories, and Sweden's support for Georgia's NATO integration process.
Irakli Beraia expressed gratitude to Peter Hultqvist for Sweden's assistance in enhancing Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, Euro-Atlantic integration, and defense capabilities. He also extended an invitation to his Swedish counterpart to visit Georgia.
The Swedish side once again confirmed support for Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration process.
