H.E Irakli Khutsurauli met with the UNHCR representative

On February 12, 2024, Ambassador, Irakli Khutsurauli, participated in an event held within the framework of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which was attended by EU member and candidate countries accredited in Sweden.

 

The event was opened by the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Nordic-Baltic countries, Anika Sandlund, as the guest of honor.

 

In her speech, Annika Sandlund informed the audience in detail about the latest information on the migration situation at the borders of the European Union, the mechanisms for regulating asylum requests and the implementation of rescue operations in emergency situations.

 

After the presentation the ambassador spoke with the UNHCR representative about current issues and future potential for regional collaboration.
