On the 13th of January Ambassador of Georgia Irakli Khutsurauli held a meeting with the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden, a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Georgia Kerstin Lundgren (Center Party).
Sides discussed close and amicable relations between Georgia and Sweden and the venues for further development. The importance of interparliamentary relations and the necessity to strengthen cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels was highlighted.
Ms. Lundgren, on behalf of the Parliament, stated her commitment to continue support of Georgia and to put important issues related to Georgia high on the agenda. The Vice-Speaker expressed readiness to participate in the events organized by the Embassy to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of the diplomatic relations between Georgia and Sweden and to support the activities.
Kerstin Lundgren reiterated unanimous support of the Parliament of Sweden to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Georgia and underscored that no one has the right to influence the foreign policy priorities of an independent state.
